Slice of life stories deal with trivialities of life for a variety of reasons: to shine a light on the human condition, to showcase the excitement apparent in even the most mundane of activities, or to satirize with caricatures. This is a list of slice-of-life comics I like.
Little Nothings, by Lewis Trondheim
Trondheim highlights the vagaries and annoyances of everyday life, from a chikungunya scare and the ensuing mosquito paranoia to nearly missing a flight because of crying kittens to finding a nail clipper on the road. The people are represented as various species of anthromorphic birds, which allows Trondheim to highlight characters' personal traits without a single word.
